Hawthorn is a beautiful tree, its lovely white blossom herald the start of summer and in Autumn the bright red berries look beautiful against the changing backdrop of golden colours and falling leaves. Hawthorn is an important herb, used regularly by Herbalists for its tonic effects on the heart and blood vessels. But Hawthorn is much more that that; and this class will explore the uses of Hawthorn both as an important medicine and food. Learning about one herb a month is a great way to connect with our local and accessible plants, and this October the Hedgerows are bursting with berries ready to pick. Each class has a guided tasting to help learn as well as a total immersion in that medicine. There will be a demonstration of making a Delicious Hawthorn brandy and there will be some Hawthorn leathers to taste.
The cost of the classes is £15 payable by Paypal. The classes get booked up quickly so pre-booking is essential. The cost includes a comprehensive emailed handout.
When booking please state that this if for the Hawthorn class.
Any classes cancelled within 48 hours of the start of the class will not be refunded.
